My Story
Kelly Suzanne Saulsberry, The Crafty Communicator & Savvy Strategist™, is the Founder & Principal of A.S.C. Concepts, her social impact consulting boutique she launched in 2023 to propel individuals and organizations to activate their missions, amplify their voices, connect with audiences, and accelerate change.
A strategist, communicator, and advocate, she credits her family and former Chicago Mayor Harold Washington with her drive for social impact and commitment to advocacy, civic engagement, humanistic values, and democratic ideals.
She treasures her Five Cs: curiosity, courage, conviction, collaboration, and compassion, which guide what she does, how she does it, and with whom.
Kelly brings over 15 years' experience in the non-profit and public sectors, where she directed public policy and public engagement initiatives as a Deputy Policy Director in the Office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and as the Director of Policy and Outreach at the Chicago Commission on Human Relations; developed and managed cross-sector, multi-disciplinary programs and partnerships at Columbia College Chicago and the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum at UIC; co-created and implemented trust-based grantmaking practices and programs as a Program Officer at Woods Fund Chicago; and directed and created Woods Fund's internal and external messaging as their inaugural Communications Strategy & Storytelling Officer.
She enjoys supper chats with family and friends, taking walks with her two dogs, reading, traveling, and binge-watching dramas and thrillers on Netflix and Apple TV.
